TO: LOCAL UNIONS AFFECTED BY THE FEDERAL STATE OF EMERGENCY IN TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA
RE: TEAMCARE HEALTH BENEFITS
The Trustees of the Central States Health Fund are concerned about the devastating effect that the current winter weather is having on our TeamCare members. As a result of these severe weather conditions, President Joseph R. Biden declared a federal state of emergency in Texas and Oklahoma.
In response to the President’s state of emergency declaration, the Trustees would like to assist our members in these areas affected by closed work locations and provide the following benefit to help them and their family stay safe and healthy during this crisis:
• Continued Coverage – For active members whose employer has been closed due to the severe weather conditions in these areas, TeamCare will provide continued healthcare coverage without COBRA self-contributions for the week of February 14, 2021 and February 21, 2021. This extension of coverage applies to all eligible family members.
Local Union staff can contact the Field Service Department to have the continued healthcare coverage benefit applied to an affected member:
